Busy, Busy, Busy.....
After getting over the jet lag of my trip to Spain...I finally got around to a few pieces.
My catalyst is my sister/brother in-law. I promised them a table for their Lake Mansion.
Before...
The top had this ugly laminate..so I just tore it off. I wasnt sure how that would look...but I sanded the top just a bit...and left it rough around the edges....kinda like me....
Now look at her!
OK, so I know you are wondering how the chevorn pattern was made.....
I did some internet searching and I learned about this:
It is normally about $14 a roll, but the Lowes in Franklin had it on clearance for $2.48.... so I purchased every roll they had. And....I LOVE....IT!
Here is what I did with this little coffee table:
I chalk painted it white (Swiss Coffee, homemade chalk paint).
Then eye balled the measurements. It is really easy to work with.
The you just paint over it...
Then, while the paint is still wet, you just carefully pull it off!
Taaaa Daaaaaa!
In the upper right corner, part of the white came off...but I am going to distress it and use some dark wax on it...so it doesn't matter.
I also painted a desk...but I need to finish it before I will post any pictures.
I have lots of furniture to be painted..so if you are looking for something, or if you have something you would like painted...let me know!
xoxo

Slowly but surely...
Slowly but surely, we will get butter churning again....
Here are some of the latest items--or pieces of art--or of my soul--
A gorgeous chalk painted red/glazed table. Could be an end table--or an entry way "catch all"
28"W x 21"L x 31"H.
More surprises on the way....

Also posting on Craigslist?!!
Here is another blue table--inspired by a dear friend of mine
Vintage end table, 23" W x 23" L x 22" H
I wish I had a place to put this--even though the table is blue, it is "neutral" and goes with everything!
More surprises on the way....

Sewing.....
My attempt to be creative.. With the help of pintrest: a pillow bed!
I have a "little" coming to visit this week. I think he will love this little piece of coziness!
It's made from "flannel" soft and light and cozy. The pattern makes me smile. Here is the other side
My "big" seems to like it....
A few "in progress" pictures:
The pillows are easily removed so it can be washed...and stored. Just don't look too closely... It appears I am not able to sew a perfectly straight line. What I love most was that I used my grandmother's sewing machine... Singer circa 1940. Talk about vintage! I also made a little cozy blanket... Thanks mom for the material! So soft.... I think I need a nap!

Friends-Birthdays-Tables
My sweet friend Amy allowed me to paint a table for her birthday gift. The table was found at my favorite store... And Amy described the color she wanted...along with a bit of distressing and glazing.... Turned out so GORGEOUS! I hope you like your table Amy! I am so blessed to have you for a friend!

Choices, choices....
Would be a swanky accent piece.. Maybe a light aqua or a soft gray?
RCA victrola... From the tag, it works. I would re wire the plug... I may have to keep this because it is so gorgeous! A bit of paint and.... Swoon!
Vanity anyone? There is a matching mirror and chair!
Roll top desk. This is great because it is smaller than most. Good condition!
The inside.
Nice coffee table...
Also purchased a few more items... If you see anything you like let me know. I can provide dimensions etc.
Enjoy your day.....
